A serious artist since his early teens, just on eighteen while living in Camperdown in the Western District of Victoria Mason went by train, staying in a room at the Carlton Hotel, and did art lessons at the Geelong Fine Art School. In 1998 Mason was accepted into the Melba Memorial Conservatorium of Music to study voice. In 2000 he changed his preference of study from singing to the of study drawing at the Victorian College of the Arts of which he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art in 2004.
In 2020 Mason Chamberlin was in a group show at Backspace Gallery Ballarat “Extempore” he showed a major drawing series of his Travelling Extractive Landscapes (simply known as extractions), and revisitations based on the extractions. He previously exhibited in the group show “Interface” at Backspace gallery in 2016, as well.
In 2012 Mason was employed in publicity, and he was also artist in residents at The Courthouse Youth Arts in Geelong. The Courthouse Arts has artworks acquired from Mason from his time there.
In 2012 Mason was commissioned to do a series of travelling landscapes (a way of working well known for the artist) for the “National Wool Museum: The Journey scarf show”.
In 2010 Mason had his first solo show, at Karingallery (Geelong) “Extraction and Extrapolation” where he showed for the first time his Travelling Landscape extractions, and a painterly Installation and performance art called “Little I” Which is an extrapolation on the theme of belief systems.
Also, in 2010 Mason was in a major group show “The Geelong Regional Artists Exhibition”, where he showed his Little I again with much success.
In 2005 Mason Chamberlin received an Honorable Mention in the 3rd International Polish Art Foundation Drawing Biennale, Melbourne
Mason Chamberlin has works in private collections, and also is a composer of fine music, having been a boy alto in the Australian Boys Choir, and formally trained in choral music in the Australian Boys Choral Institute.

Early 2023 Mason Performed his original songs in the town center of Stawell as an act with a performance art trapeze show. He has frequently sung at the Grampians Ale works (Stawell) and performed at Pomonal Estate Cellars (Pomonal) December 7th, 2024.
A story also been presented on 774 ABC Melbourne for World Mental Health Day (2017) with his Symphony “Psyche”.
In 2005 Mason was commissioned along side poets and writers to compose and sing two art song pieces to artworks in the Geelong Gallery “Words at the Gallery: Lake Gnotuk a Layered History” and perform them the result was “The Lakes Cantata”.
In 1996 Mason won “Most Promising Performer: The Mortlake Buskers Festival” where he spent his prize money learning how to record his songs with Ray Anderson, who had a recording studio of esteem in Mortlake during the 1990s.
Mason Chamberlin has written many songs and performed them since his teenage years, including folk songs, contemporary style art songs and love songs, – having written two symphonies, themed concert music for voice and ensemble, sacred music, and he is also in the process of writing a Ballet: “Constance”; about the first woman doctor to practice in Australia, Constance Stone, was pivotal in the health care issues of women, mothers and children, she was instrumental in the opening of the Queen Victoria Hospital in Melbourne. The Queen Vic (as it was known) no longer operates.
Mason Chamberlin also writes fictional poetry and essays, on the arts and creativity.
